| Nose Art Process
We can provide examples of all tyes of historical nose art, or
design an image that incorporates your particular interests. Once
you select a design and surface (an aircraft versus a free hanging
panel or jacket) we'll either provide an immediate quote or a written
estimate with a proposed schedule.
If we're painting on your aircraft, we determine where implementation
will occur. If possible, we will remove aircraft panel (s) and ship
it to our studio, to reduce travel costs. Better yet, why not fly
to Cable Airport for a quick turnaround?. (Call ahead to ensure
you have hangar space waiting). If we work offsite, schedule arrangements
are made to complete the artwork over a two-three day timeframe.
We use computer-created masks for surface preparation and image
placement. CAUTION! on some aircraft where the base paint history
is unknown or looks to be unstable, some techniques will be unavailable,
to ensure no damage to surrounding paintwork.
Enamels with airbrushing require cure times between coats, so most
artwork requires a minimum of two working days to complete., We
can also coordinate with your paint shop for the best time to apply
the nose art (following application of the primer coat).
